It was about 7 PM. I finished my work and was free after a busy schedule. The workday ends at 4.30 PM, but due to the workload, it extended beyond 7 PM. So it was late, and I was required to buy a few things on the way home, too. I locked my office and walked to parking.
My office is near a bridge. When I reached the main gate, I noticed that traffic on both sides of the bridge was at a complete standstill. Passengers had started getting down from buses to cross the bridge walking. There was no need for me to cross the bridge because my house was on the opposite side. I was on my way when I noticed a man running with a suitcase in hand. I stopped my vehicle near him and asked him where he wanted to go. He said he was to board a train that departed at 7.30 PM, but his bus was stuck on the bridge. Now he was trying to walk to the railway station.
I saw that it wasn’t possible to walk to the railway station before the train departed. Though the railway station was not on my way, I changed my route and offered him a lift. He accepted with a nice smile. I drove a little fast and dropped him in front of the railway station just a few minutes before 7.30 PM. He thanked me with a smile and entered the railway station running. I hope he boarded the train.
I reached home a little late happy and satisfied.
