Recently I had to drive a long distance on the motorway. Other drivers on the road can be pushy, and driving in the left lane is recommended. I generally maintain my speed limit, but other drivers can pressure me by driving faster, forcing me to go faster or change lanes. In the past few times, I stayed in my lane, thinking I was maintaining my speed and didn’t need to change my lane because of someone else. But all this puts pressure on how you feel by the end of the journey. Also, you are on edge when driving.
This time I decided to just let people be and move away. It doesn’t make me any smaller. I thought they could have things to handle sooner or that they were in a rush. It doesn’t impact me. I am responsible for my journey. Keeping this attitude made a huge difference; I felt peaceful and at ease. Enjoyed the journey and reached the destination feeling great despite leaving home early in the morning and driving for more than two hours. Also, there was a sense of peace in my heart that my actions may have made life easier for someone else.
Takeaway
Being mindful of others while travelling can bring peace to us and others.
