I had hit rock bottom by age 32. There was only one way out, and that was up. My psychiatrist suggested I do what I know or am a little good at. So I made mobile and dry flower arrangements. Then I asked what I could do with the lot. He made me think, and I replied, “Sell”. So I had an exhibition and decided all proceeds would go to the lepers. I worked tirelessly, and it went well and was even covered by the newspapers. The best part was when I went to the asylum and handed over the proceeds – the doctors were so grateful. I went on to hold three such exhibitions and realized we forget our pain when we help others.
