Inspired by the Black Lotus Raks and other Seva institutions, I resolved to do something for needy people in whichever small way possible for me. I have been doing this regularly, but I decided to do it daily during the holy month of Shravan. Moreover, I had received a bonus, so I planned to spend it on Raks during the month. Here I am sharing one memorable incident.
I visited a nearby shopping mall where a lady and her two girls were selling balloons. I asked her if she would accept some clothes and stuff for the girls, and she nodded and smiled. I inquired about girls’ ages so I could buy accordingly.
Hearing this, the girls wanted to come inside the store with me. I was sceptical if the mall staff would allow them inside or not because of their dirty clothes. Still, after taking permission from their mother, we went ahead. The staff did inquire about them, but no one objected to their entry.
Over the next 3 hours, we selected different clothes for them after multiple trials. Noticing that they were barefoot, I purchased footwear, snacks and grocery items.
At the billing counter, the staff member asked me about the girls. I replied that they were kids of a vendor who sits outside the mall. Hearing this, he happily agreed to give us a carry bag without adding the additional charge to our bill 🙂
And needless to say, the girls were very happy with our time. We three enjoyed each other’s company and had some fun conversations 🙂
Jai Shri Hari. 🙏.
