A fluttering sound beside the wooden almirah suddenly reminded me of the two pigeons that had flown into the room yesterday. And we knew what had happened – one got trapped beside the wooden almirah. The space was not wide enough for the pigeon to fly out or for us to reach there. We tried all means to get the pigeon out but in vain. Then we called society maintenance and asked for help. A few housekeeping team members came but could not get the bird out. They also said they would handle the problem the following day, as their shift had ended. We put a few bread crumbs and grains for the pigeons. We decided to break a portion of the almirah the next day to free the bird. The team came and took the pigeon out.
Seeing it alive and when it took off and flew away was a relief we felt.
