About two and a half years ago, my sugar levels shot up. Soon my whole body was covered with eczema-like sores, and I had to bandage most of my body. At the hospital, I was diagnosed with acute diabetic dermopathy and had to have insulin injections twice daily. I went into a bad self-pity phase and rarely stepped out of the house. With insulin, I was a little better.
I have always been an optimistic and cheerful person. One morning I looked at myself in the mirror and was horrified to see how I had let myself go. After that, I cried and begged God to help me. When I next opened my mobile, I saw an ad for online Yoga classes from Munger. It was like a godsend. I joined the classes and a week later joined a course on reversing diabetes. I started walking regularly. My lifestyle changed, as did my diet, and I soon started losing weight. My insulin dosage was reduced in six months, and I became fit and active. All this taught me not to take the precious gift of life for granted.
