I was 10-11 years old and riding home on my bicycle on a rainy day. Although it had been raining hard and the roads were clear, nothing had prepared me for the swimming pool which greeted me when I entered the street which led home. The street was flooded due to the rainwater, and the swirling waters looked deep and unpredictable. I was pretty scared and almost on the brink of crying, wondering what to do?
A man saw my predicament and waded up to me in waist-deep water. He asked me if there was an issue. In a scared and wobbly voice, I told him that my house was on that street and I was too frightened to ride my bicycle in the floodwaters. I was anxious about falling off into a deep puddle.
The man laughed and told me there was nothing to worry about. He asked me to be seated on my bicycle and gently talked to me while walking me all the way home. He deposited me safely at the gate of my house, and before I could thank him, he disappeared in a sliver of a second.
