There are moments in life when one feels extremely sad and cannot find a purpose to live. The trigger could be anything: as extreme as losing a loved one or as small as a social media post of someone having fun.
In these times, all you need is a ray of hope.
I had one of those moments yesterday after a big fight with someone close on an ethics issue, after which all I was doing was thinking about my sacrifices for them, looking for their mistakes and framing a revenge plan in my mind. Please don’t take me wrong here: I am not going to kidnap someone! They were harmless revenge plans like I won’t talk to them ever, won’t eat with them, won’t call them to my wedding or better won’t even marry, etc. How foolish one can become in anger!
And today, while I was lost in the evil land of my own, someone rang the doorbell. It was a delivery guy who had bought a plant for someone. As we were not expecting anything, we thought it was for someone else until I read the note that said it was for me from a friend I had helped with her post-grad application.
In just a few moments, all my rage was gone, and I went to the person I fought with and said, ‘Look! My friend sent me a plant. Isn’t that so nice?’
Don’t take life so seriously that you forget to live it. Instead plant a seed of hope where you can.
